Hi senior traders, junior traders, proprietary trading firm executives and whomever able to help me in my choice,

I am a young guy with a good financial background and genuine passion for financial markets. I would really like to start trading, developing my own strategy and being backed by a company which provides me capital and training.

I have found out the name of the following organizations: FUTEX, Amplify Trading, ARB Capital, London Stone Trading Ltd, Oak Futures Europe, Savi Trading, Stone Futures Trading and Dubai Professional Trading.

Which one of these do you think to be the best choice for a guy in my situation! I think that FUTEX offers the worst economic conditions, do you agree with me?

Once the trading session is over, what is probability (on average) to get hired by the company and trade its capital?

In case they are not willing to hire you because of your poor performance during the 4 months trading session, do they change their opinion if you propose them a lower profits share? for example 30% rather than 50%?

Many thanks in advance

Hi Stude_0580,

Might be easier if we have a conversation if you're amenable?

Contact details are 020 3371 6312, mobile 07411 338 029. I now work for one of the types of companies you mention above having graduated through their trading academy, but have not included.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Yo Mike,

Are you sure you want him to search for LGI on this forum? Do you mean this thread?

http://www.trade2win.com/boards/trading-firm/114182-anyone-heard-london-global-investments.html

The one where ArabianNights comments:

HAHAHAHAHAAHAAHHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAAHAHAHAHHAHHA

don't know anything about them but legit companies don't make you PAY to be an employee

NEXT!

And:

P.S. I looked at their website just then and they're not just misleading, they're deceitful.(barjon - edit)

From previous experience I'm not going to bother arguing with you about this, so if you disagree and want to argue fair enough, I won't argue back, please feel free to lose your money.

However if you want more info and will accept reality then please do ask, I will be helpful to anyone who isn't like a moth to a flame....

Where pboyles notes:

Firstly it is misleading for them to market this as a job, what you are in fact doing is paying them for a training course.

And also points out:

LGI are not on the FSA register. That probably means they just sell training courses which does not require them to be regulated.

ETC ETC ETC.

It wasn't really the best advertising for your operation. Just my opinion. :)

Once the trading session is over, what is probability (on average) to get hired by the company and trade its capital?

With a good company I believe its a one in ten to one in twenty chance, for the others who are just out to take your training fees and teach you next to nothing the chances are zero.

For instance Futex seem to be regarded as a company that makes a genuine attempt to train you, however I read somewhere recently that on average only one person out of each intake of 20 or 30 people is still there after a year.

Regardless of how you look at it the odds are very low.

You wouldn't pay an accountancy firm, insurer, investment bank to train you. So why pay these sheisters?

I had a job interview with FUTEX and UOBF but I think they just wanted my money!!! I am not looking for people/company short run oriented I really want a long term relationship!!! I had an assessment test with FUTEX and the questions they asked to me were impossible for a no-native english.

A TIP FOR ALL NO ENGLISH PERSON WHO ARE GONNA HAVE THE ASSESSMENT TEST WITH FUTEX: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, THE FIRST PART OF THE TEST IS NOT FOR NO-NATIVE ENGLISH!!! I HAVE SPENT MONEY FOR ACCOMODATION, FLIGHT TICKET ETC. THE RESULT IS SIMPLY NOTHING.

The purpose of my email is to find something different. I have sweat blood to earn my savings and I am not gonna waste it. Are Amplify Trading, ARB Capital, London Stone Trading Ltd, Oak Futures Europe, Savi Trading, Stone Futures Trading and Dubai Professional Trading different to FUTEX?
Regardings Schneider TA NO COMMENT!!! They look very very short term oriented in their strategies, etc...they just want to squeeze you (MY PERSONAL OPINION).

Why FUTEX is so expansive? Is their training programme better??

If you failed at Futex just forget about it, there are plenty of other companies that will take your money with no tests at all, ask yourself why? Is it because they think you are such a great candidate or is it because they just want to take a training fee off you?

Futex and Schneider are the longest established of the firms you mentioned and the most reputable, although that doesnt mean much in this industry.

pboyles are u a FUTEX trader or not???? have you ever undergo yourself to the first part of FUTEX assessment?????? try it??? for a no-native english like me it is impossible!!!! i did not even understand the words of those ****ing questions!!!!!!!!!!!!it has been very unfair!!!!!!!!!!
I would like to see u to having that test in german, french or..................u would fail it!!!!!!!!! I can speak english quite good i have lived in australia, us, etc but that is impossible for NO NATIVE ENGLISH.

FOREIGN GUYS DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY WITH FUTEX

You should be thinking in terms of spending time not money. Are you prepared to learn Excel VBA at a minimum or would you rather "buy" a job?

Pazienza,

That is indeed the thread, thanks for putting it in there for ease of reference. As the points are directly relevant and for ease of reference for you Stude_0580:

-The point about paying to be an employee. It is true, it's not prudent to pay someone to employ you. So to be clear, there is a course fee applied to put you through your Society of Technical Analysts Diploma so you have recognised accreditation that shows you have a comprehension of technical analysis. If you go to their website www.sta-uk.org you can do your own research into who they are and what they do specifically. You can also see how much it costs. There is an obvious charge on top of that for the tutors (who actually do trade, not just teach) with us. They are there for your access not just for the duration of the course, but whilst you are serving with LGI as mentors as an ongoing basis.

It has been continually put across that LGI are just there for the course fees they can generate and not to employ you at the other end. The business model simply would not stand if that were the case when you factor in tutor fees, office space alone.

Of additional note: Part of the course includes monitored demo trading and guidance as to how to build your own trading strategy as well as using some that have already been designed, back-tested and proven to work so you can trade them if you would like. Post demo trading, you then go onto live trading with company funds. To begin with the amounts are very small, so it's critical here for us to manage your expectations; if you expect to be given £100k at this point, we're the wrong company for you. There will be no Ferrari or Yachts in your first year! But we are here to develop as traders. And I phrase it like that because I am in the Academy and was prior to working like this for them.

The point is, post training, you will be guaranteed a position on the trading floor, subject to meeting a basic requirement which is averaging 50pips a week over a 4 week period. But you don't get booted out the door after a set amount of time, you simply demo trade until you meet that requirement. Which is where the access to mentors who do this for a living (and are physically there when you need them) become invaluable.

I presume you are in this for the long run and this is where the obvious difficulty lies; you need to be self-sustaining until you go live to start earning. That in itself is a natural filter for us, but if you think it's feasible, get hold of me for an informal chat. If you're local, happy to meet with you and show you what we're doing. If you're not local but willing to travel, the same applies.

Kindest,

Mike

PS: FSA Registration is not a requirement for companies who are not advising retail clients or handling client money for the purposes of investment, hence our not being registered with them.

I have really studied finance and I love finace. I am not like the those guys who are just looking for easy money in a very short amount of time. I have worked years abroad with exchange, etc... I now alot about financial markets, please do not bull**** me!!!

It is not easy not get a job just sending speculative application! companies hires you only if you already now someone who already works there,..and do not forget that many companies are based abroad and do not sponsor you for VISA and work permission.

pboyles if u think that it easy to secure a place with IMC, Flow traders, optiver, etc just try to apply for them!!!! it is impossible if you are not a genious!!! I am not a genius but i am not as bad as you are describing me.

DEAR MIKE BRIGGS I AM GONNA CONTACT YOU, BUT I TELL YOU IN ADVANCE: DO NOT THINK TO GET MY MONEY WITHOUT PROPOSING ME SOMETHING INTERESTING. I DO NOT WASTE MY MONEY AND I HAVE SWEAT BLOOD TO EARN MY MONEY.

PLEASE HELFUL RESPONSES NOT GRANTED RESPOSES AND BULL****S

Mike,

Simple question for you. Of the candidates that started on the first course (was it mid Feb?) how many have currently reached the benchmark for live trading with company funds? Not wishing to sound rude but can you prove it, you'll understand we have debunked some previous dodgy claims about LGI.

You are correct about the FSA registration issue.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the invite but I'll have to decline. I'm not a big fan of TA, so if that's what you're doing I couldn't get into that.

I'm aware of the Diploma but honestly it isn't something that I rate.

Why not pay Oracle to teach you Java?

If you pay the fee to one of these new companies then you will definitely be accepted regardless of any tests or interviews. I read about a guy who received his 'contract' 3 days before he was due to do the interview (not one of the companies mentioned here but same setup).

Pboys mention me these companies
thanks in advance

LGI, Amplify, Savi, GTEX Global there's loads of them in London now.

You do understand that I am not recommending you do this for the reasons I have already mentioned?

To all those person who are writing in this forum I just would ask to kindly have the mathematical test with a very serious organization like Optiver! Trust me it is not for normal people it is for genius!!
Once you have really seen with your own eyes what is the assessment test with optiver, imc, etc then you will understand me and why i would willingly pay money for a GOOD TRAINING TRADING COMPANY.

Please before answering my question just submit you cv to optiver and than let me know!!!!

ALL THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!
