I bought a kit for investing in tax liens and deeds in various states at a seminar. $1297. Is some good info there and on the website. However, the specialized help or "coaching" aspect is non-existent. Anyone I spoke with is ignorant and promises to take the ?'s to Sean who is just too darn busy to get back to me.

I think that the company is all about getting people like me to buy the kit, but not able to respond to the # of questions -- or never really intended to offer the support as promised.

Anyone else pist at SKWCentral? That's Sean K. Walker out of Utah.

he just sold the same kit in oregon and washington for $1497. it came with a lifetime membership to the website data, which i liked the idea of..... no digging. did that come with your 1297? i hear other sites charge $20 a month for this feature.
that said, i'm looking online and finding a lot of similar stuff for under $500 via various competitors. no promise of website data tho.

Sorry guys but you fell for the marketing. Chances are your money and investment have been wasted.

well i would take your advice if you could elaborate. i'm thinking since i just bought this today i can probably get my money back, but i need a decent reason. thanks for the quick comment on this thread tonite.

I have gotten the "good" that is at the SKW website and now given up on this guy. He has no intention of replying to e-mails (based on my experience and the opinions of others who bought the "kit" in my group. (n) SKW uses his middle name to differentiate between himself and some radical white racist nut. I did a background search and found that he has some criminal history, marital litigation, and could not be licensed for mortgage brokerage in the state of his residence (Utah) due to the fact that he lied about his prior criminal history. These are significant indications of a character disorder. No surprise, considering the way he is making his money.

SKW spends a significant amount of energy purging the internet of negative comments regarding him professionally. I have been entirely satisfied with Dean Graziosi's very expensive and entirely professional real estate investing empire and training system. There were negative comments on deangraziosi.com reg. this SKW fellow and SKW, himself, frequently went on the site to defend himself -- rather than spend the energy and time to correct his errors and ommissions with those students he had offended. I suspect that SKW put pressure on DG to have the entire thread quashed as it is no longer on the DG site (although it may still be cached in google). Or DG just does not want to have that much negativity on his blog.

I knew that SKW was bogus when they would not even reply to my request to purchase a tax lien certificate from SKW!:-0 What business is too busy to get back to a customer who wants to send money to them? That's being WAY to "busy" in my opinion. My hunch is that SKW has no intention of remunerating the "tuition" and will make it impossible for "students" to fulfill the part of the student's requirements that lead to a return of that $1200 (now $1400?) tuition.

I called SKW for the last time in early July. "Mark" was the guy with whom i spoke and he was rather frosty on the line -- indicated that he had heard about me (a rotten apple, perhaps). Although he did not disconnect, he was curt and not really interested in being helpful -- just perfunctory. Formerly, I spoke with Jessica (who is likely the office cutie -- someone's sweetie) and both Alex and Derek who were entirely unable to offer any assistance when I asked of them a few basic and intial questions about working TLC's in Texas. Only Sean has the ability to answer a question and he won't do it. The concept of "the customer being always right" is NOT a slogan at SKW.

GovernmentAuctions.org is a good source of info regarding what type of auction is being held and where. Costs $18/mo. The SKW site has a "calendar", but only tells you that there is some unspecified type of action happening in a city without narrowing it down to a tax sale, foreclosure/trustee sale, sheriff sale, etc. :) The bad thing about govauctions is that it is not "sortable", so you will waste some time scrolling down and going to the next page (over and over) to find what you want.

Sorry that you guys have also wasted your capital on a poser. If you wanna sue SKW for "failure to perform", let me know. Would be a class-action and I bet there are tons of pissed people out there.

wow thanks for the info jiminmontana. i called skw yesterday and asked for a refund. i did a lot of internet searching the night i posted my reply (and you're right - the thread DID mysteriously disappear!) and came to the conclusion that there is a lot of similar stuff out there seemingly less expensive (altho i know how marketing goes - first they get you for $7, then $88 more, then $300... and on it goes). i'm now leaning toward a company called rogue investor - 2 websites out there - deedgrabber.com and www.rogueinvestor.com. anyway, skw gave me a confirmation number to return the product so i'll see what happens. meanwhile,i'll save your posts in case i end up giving it to my credit card company to battle. hopefully that won't happen. best of luck with the tax leins and thanks for the gov link.

There is also a lot of free information out there. For Arizona I read the information put out by the counties and on a FREE site www.aztaxlienservices.com. It is not a course, for people who want a program that they can follow step-by-step, but they do respond whenever I reply to one of their blog posts with a question. I would guess that there are similar sites for other states.

Hello, did you end up getting the refund? I actually just purchased this training kit and based on what I'm reading here I'm going to get a refund before my time is up. I don't want to be out of $1497 if it's not worth it or if you don't get what they are advertising. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciative.

Can you please tell me that where to buy this kit?
Because I am newbie here and didn't have much knowledge..!!

and apparently illiterate.

To this day i'm still waiting for a refund. They got the package but somehow their refund people aren't processing it. I speak to a guy there at least once a week who tells me i'm at the top of the refund list, so why has it been 3 weeks and I have yet to see my refund? FML

Because they are set up to fleece customers, the last thing they want to do is give you money back.

I know this thread is a few months old, but I wanted to post here and thank everyone for sharing their experiences.

On Feb. 3rd, 2012, my mother and I attended a one day event for Dean Graziosi's program (which by the way, I wouldn't recommend at all). At that event, the second speaker was a Leland McKay, and he was actually talking about SKWCentral.com, and how wonderful it was.

He had spoke about his lifestyle and such, and then talked favorably about tax liens and tax deeds. After that, he introduced the website, and after talking about it for a few minutes, he gave the details for a 3-day training and lifetime membership, which he said was normally $1.497, but for anyone who bought Dean's program, the price would be discounted to $997, and said that there were only several tuition refund guarantees.

We didn't buy that program, mainly cause we had just spent 2 grand less than an hour before for Dean Graziosi's Right Now program, but I was beginning to contemplate getting the SKW Central service. After reading the experiences people had, I'm glad I came across this site, and am not going to get it.

Thanks everyone.

Hi. My name is Derek Webb. I'm the Customer Service Manager at SKW Central Tax Liens & Deeds. I'm genuinely interested in the success and happiness of our students and scour the web regularly looking for success stories and feedback. I was surprised to come across this complaint and would like to address it with the readers.

I think it's important to let you know we have TONS of happy customers! In just the past month, our students have invested at least $450,000 in tax liens, with an average accruing interest rate of 14%. And because of our relationships with the secondary market, we've been able to acquire these tax liens at a discounted rate (avg 15%), which we then passed to our students. This is a remarkable investment opportunity. It's no wonder our customers are so happy. Here's a sample of what they're saying:

"Becoming an SKW student has allowed me to learn all about the tax lien and deed purchasing process and has given me a ton of educational tools to help me find good certificates within my price range. I invested $1,600 into 7 tax liens from several states at an average of 16% interest on each lien." - Susan Jensen, Ballston Spa, NY

"The program pulled everything together. It clarified a lot of things and tied a lot of loose ends that couldn't be tied elsewhere. Going forward it will be nice to have a reference point that I can trust. I put my money into 8 tax liens in both Maricopa county and Mahoning county at an average of 16% interest." - Jim LeQuin, Dublin, CA

As with any business, it's difficult to please everyone, even though we try anyway. As a company, we work tirelessly to keep everyone happy and are very proud of our satisfaction ratings. We've been in business for a while now and I only know of 2 complaints - one was a simple misunderstanding that has since been resolved; the other (above) posted this complaint after asking for a refund plus $500 more than what he paid for the program.

Plain and simple, we did not take care of this customer as we should have - it's inexcusable. We have since corrected the problem and have put processes in place to prevent anyone else from ever having the same experience. We have since contacted this customer to see if there was anything we could do to help him feel better about everything. We offered this customer a full refund, 6 months access to our website and training program for free, personal one on one help. Unfortunately, to no avail, he is set on speaking poorly about the company and his experience.

This is disappointing to me as the Customer Service Manager. As I mentioned previously, I am genuinely interested in the success and happiness of our customers and am completely dedicated to ensuring each customer has a phenomenal experience with me and my staff, and the product. If there are any readers who would like to speak with me or my team, our direct line is (877) 484-8012. I promise to do everything possible to ensure you have an amazing experience with our products and services.
