Hi,
I'm in my early 30's.... Not really much of a clue about hedge funds etc, but was approached by Shin Kong Wedbush, a company based in Taiwan... I googled them, did my research - they had so many web pages, articles... They seemed legit...
Over the last 18 months, I've invested about 70k USD and about 9 months ago I asked them to sell off some of the shares.... Since then, I've requested all to be sold off.... Aah ha, you know where I'm going.... The phone calls got less and less, now none!.... All I get is voicemail when I call their office.... No reply to emails....

I'm hoping someone might be able to help.... I'm also wanting to warn people not to make the same mistake I did.
If you are going to invest, ONLY do it with a company you KNOW!!!!

...... If there is anyone who can help, or point me in the right direction to assist with some form of retribution though, it would be much appreciated!!!
Thanks.
Watch out for the bad guys.

He's not asking for gambling advice.

Ames, there are people on here who will have been through similar things with disreputable companies/fraudsters so they'll be able to assist you if you keep asking.

This is a boiler room scam, they have scammed a lot if people it seems. Search this site and you will find stories from other victims.

Never ever buy shares from someone that phones you. Every one of them is a thief who will steal your money.

Sorry to hear this Ames8950 :(

Even reliable companies you think are trustworthy, could be a Ponzi scheme. An example is Bernie Madoff.

At least you learnt it in your 30's rather than when your retired. If you watch the Bernie Madoff documentary, an 80 year old lost everything.

You should always be wary when a company contacts you, expect it a scam until you are 100% sure.
Good luck getting your investment back!
