This thread will try and post UK stock tickers that offer charts with price action near the 21day EMA that might look like candidates for a "bounce" either to the up side (uptrenders) or down side (downtrenders).

The goal is to try and foster discussion on any stock tickers that might have charts worth investigating further. Ideally, the stocks will have been trending recently with an opportunity to find a support/resistance cluster near the 21 Day EMA (e.g. old highs/lows, prior breakout/down zones).

For example:

Some Uptrending stocks with charts to look at include:
IMG
IPF
POG

Downtrending stocks?
Looks like the weakest performers in the FTSE-350 in the last month are a bit extended away from their 21-EMA, so

I will try and update this thread every couple of days.

Good trading,
AFA Freddy

Looking for some feedback. I am currently involved in a very innovative project which if successful will be able to significantly reduce execution costs for retail/day traders looking to trade UK and European (e.g. Nokia, Fiat, Bayer AG) stocks.

I have read a number of threads on t2w suggesting that day trading is very difficult at best due to wide spreads, stamp etc.

Do posters feel that an ability to significantly reduce commissions helps get around this issue?

With reduced commissions (say £5 or below) is the 0.5% stamp tax still to significant?

Are spreads too wide to allow efficient frequent trading regardless of better execution costs?

Interested to hear any feedback.

Jessops shares are due to be bought back by Jessops before the end of the year at 0.097p each. Yet they are trading at just over 1p each. They went up 7% today. There's an article on it here Snapshot of Jessops shows caution - interactive investor.

I don't understand the argument that holders are somehow squeezing out short sellers. Surely all that short sellers have to do is wait until the shares are bought out and pay 0.097p per share? Maybe something is afoot, but with HSBC holding over 50% of the shares, no-one else could obtain a majority interest, so I can't really think what.

Any ideas? Can I take a spread trading position in Jessops anyway or are they now too small for any companies to give me a position?
