The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) consensus forecast is for a rise in the interest rates from 2.25% to 2.5%. Meeting starts today and rate change (if any) will be announced tomorrow at 14:15 EST.

I've posted these charts from the E-mini S&P 500 on Fed Days.

I was surprised that there wasn't more response to this poll. Anybody hazzard a guess why the disintrest here? Perhaps just a "type" of day that nobody is interested in?

The reason that I posted the poll and ask the question was to guage in what area people are interested in knowing more about the markets. I assume that this isn't one of them. Where and what would people like to see researched and reported on?

Perhaps not that many are interested . Myself I don't trade on these days. (avoid them)

Tomorrow is Fed Day. FOMC is expected to raise interest rates by 0.25% to 5.25%. If we do not see the expected change then this will make an already volatile market even more volatile.

cheers for that delta

I have been testing systems for fomc days 1400 til close only...... to take advantage of the volatility, range expansion etc. simple momentum based stuff, 100% technical, (dont even listen to announcement or mins) based on 2 min charts, will be trading live today.

You seem to have done your research, do you have any strategies for fomc days?

Does anyone know where you can get the dates of past FOMC meetings from. Most websites give you the economic events for the week ahead, but no past data.

I want to have a look at the dates and see what happened and what trades my trading plan gave me.
