Hi there,

Does anybody knows about optimusfutures broker?, Is it reliable? (customer support..., low commissions..., fast execution... low or not slippage..., trading platform..., clearing firm...), or, on that matter, what is the best and most reliable futures broker and why? (Global Futures… Advantage Futures…)

Thanks

Hi Ska,
Welcome to T2W,
I'm in the process of adding a lot of brokers to the Reviews section of T2W (accessed via the link in the centre of the main red header panel) - so keep an eye on that. A number of the better known ones are already in there and you can find links to their websites beneath the descriptions. As it happens, I'm also in the market for a new futures broker myself and the one that ticks most of my boxes is Infinity Futures. One tip I'd pass on is that all of the brokers I've been in contact with were prepared to offer commission rates more favorable than the ones they advertise publicly. So, don't be afraid to haggle! Good luck with your search and please add your review of the one you eventually decide on. If, by chance, the broker in question isn't listed, let me know and I'll add them.
Cheers,
Tim.

Tim,

Thanks for your reply... I will definitely check on Infinity Futures broker... So far, I'm in contact with Optimus Futures broker (which isn't listed in T2W), and I will use your advise in asking them for better commission rates.. As soon as I get to know what they can offer me, or in case that I open an account with them, for sure I will post my review... If anybody has heard about optimus futures broker, I would also appreciate your comment..
Thanks again
Ska

Hi - I am also shopping for a broker. However I would need direct access (colo possibly) to CME Globex for lowest possible latency. Does anyone happen to know which broker(s) is on the top of list in that regards? Thanks!

Ska, have you made your choice?

Hi iv been looking at similar places..... please refer to my thread in Trading from home!

I have picked out a few places namely:

Global futures, MF Global, Velocity, AMP Trading, Advantage Futures & Infinity!

IMO Global Futures, Velocity and MF Global are most competitive!

I am buying a broker. However also need direct access to CME Globex lowest latency possible. It is very quickly enough. But everything if you google you will find much lower advertised online without haggling.

I heard that infinity futures had a problem with price freeze before. Anybody heard about it ?

I would use server based execution in your case. This can me done if your strategy is automated. Check out www.libanman.com, you can name your own commission if you have enough volume

I'm currently being charged 4 USD per contract per side from MF Global, and have made some inquiries with Velocity. They look quite good, offering CQG Trader for free and 4 USD r/t in ES and 4.82 (or there abouts) per r/t for 6e (i'd use Prorealtime for charts)

Any comments from those trading thru Velocity on any issues they've had or recommending them would be much appreciated.....

Hi Spy74,

We´ve spoken before , why dont you try http://www.fairvaluefutures.com/
as I mentioned before they probably beat most deals and your funds are safe as their account is opened with rosenthal collins group who are very reputable if your looking to trade emini then there is little better than ninjatrader+zenfire feed for free, but they do onyx platform for free and all the major front ends + they have loads of great charting packages.

Do you know how long have they been around? Free Ninja Trader sounds tempting, but comms not entirely clear from site. Do you have an account, wp?

Yes, they are one of the only futures brokers offering Ninja with Zenfire feed which is key to the platform as they have hubs in London,Frankfurt and Chicago giving you a massive edge speed wise if your scalping........dont take ninja without zenfire it dosent work aswell on other feeds. I am opening an account as a friend of mine has opened the business , the pricing is pretty clear all you have to do is add on the exchange fees which are available at the official exchange websites off the top of my head its 0.40 euro cents on Eurex, 0.50 p
on liffe cant think of the US products exchange fees offhand as I dont trade them but you can get them from the CME website etc.

No problems in my experience. However if you are completely new to futures should you be trading a live account, why not demo trade with global for a month and see how you get on.

Only this way! No doubt!
