hello,

I am interested in opening a spread betting or CFD account with cmc markets.

Can anyone tell me or point me to where there is information regarding their minimum trade sizes and what the minimum amount is to open an account.

I cant seem to find this information anywhere and would be interested to look into it further,

I already trade forex and want to break into other markets to diversify my portfolio,

do CMC offer the same sort of flexibility to trade as say oanda does for forex?

thanks to all

I have a SB account with CMC and I believe the minimum amount to open an account is £200 and the minimum trade sizes are £1 per point. If you ring them on 0207 170 8200 I'm sure they will be happy to answer any questions, I've always found them to be very helpful. Been on a couple of their seminars - nice guys..........

if by flexibility you mean they have the ability to deplete your account without you having to lose trades then yes. theyre very cretaive in ripping you off and sometimes they just say were taking that money off you becasue we can thanks. igindex is probably what youre looking for

I wouldnt bother with anyone unless its direct access these days. Have a look at:

http://www.openecry.com/

A wicked platford and are forever expanding the exchanges you can trade on and pretty low margins as well. £500 for the YM etc with a minimum account of $2000

Or what about

http://www.futuresbetting.com/

Direct access but the downside is £5000 minimum account opening

Hope this helps

It appears openoutcry is futures trading company - profits are taxable
I have spoken to futuresbetting and they appear to be very professional.
They are the only direct access sb company I have found with no requotes and no artificial spikes. Downside is that you can only trade the markets during the designated trading hours BUT that is not a downside if you are a serious player. For those that are interested you play the market as it is played on a conventional account ie. footse £10.00 per point £3000.00 deposit All quite normal

Happy trading

They are the only direct access sb company

How can you have a direct access SB company ? Direct access means that you are dealing direct with the exchange and spreadbetting means that you are trading through a third party which is not direct access.

The easiest way to answer this is for you to go to their website futuresbetting.com .
I have no personal dealing experience with them and they are regulated by their own local governing board NOT the fsa. However they do operate a segregated account system. Once you have been to their site come back to me and and we can compare notes. Although i am listed as a newbie i have traded the futures markets for over 25 years .

I have an account with them and have had since they used to be called deal4free.
The information already posted is correct But if you are intending trading with a small amount in your account be careful and here is why. You open the account with 200stg
you place a 1.00 bet on say footsie , deposit required currently 50stg. You make a 70 point loss. You now have 130 in your account . You then place a further 1.00 bet on the footsie the market moves 31 points against you making the net value 99.00. You will be immediately closed out BECAUSE you must maintain a min. of 100.00stg net in your account. I have used only 2 trades to demonstrate to keep the post simple. Phone them and check this out if you wish. ps I also trade futures

Happy trading
