"CRB" as in Commodity Research Bureau. I thought they had a good reputation.

I'm having some problems getting the back-adjusted continuous contracts to build. "PowerGen" - their software - seems to adjust even the latest prices from the spot contract. This is obviously totally unusable for trading - I need real prices.

Yet CRB Trader's website implies that you can use their software to compile exactly what I want.

I'm just not getting a response from Tech Support and phoning them results in voice mail ansaphone.

Would be interested to hear from anyone, before I give up and start compiling the continuous contracts in a spreadsheet :(

Hi , used to use them but have switched to CSI but only because CRB doesn't cover UK stocks. Also CRB seem bit behind the times to me when it came to technical support.

hi timaru,

interesting. I was within a whisker of changing to CSI, and then to Premium Data, but each time I didn't in the end.

I generally get a reply from their tech support within 48 hours, which is OK but pretty frustrating when you're trying to solve a problem immediately.

They got back to me on this and told me that I should expect the spot prices to be adjusted 'during the roll-over period' which seems to be some sort of mis-quote or muddled reply from the person dealing with my request, probably (hopefully) just repeated inaccurately from what their software developers said.

I haven't examined the issue properly to look into this, but my initial reaction is that yesterday's OHLC in a continuous contract will be adjusted on the day of roll-over - so I don't know what a roll-over period that they mention and it will probably be Monday evening before I hear any more from them.
