OK well i have just opened an account with E-Trade online, i've sent the registration letters off etc, but i'm questioning my decision, its going to cost me £6.75 i think per trade, and as i'm new i think its a little high, as all i want to invest at the start is £100 buying a few shares in different companies, and seeing how that goes, but what do you think would be the most suitable for me, i'm looking for very little advice from the brokers, and low trade prices, with no minimum amount in the account. Are there brokers with trades of like £2 per trade, just execution brokers? Because i don't think i would call my broker up and ask his advice.

Any advice would be great, thanks alot.

IB or ST

For inexpensive trades i would go interactive brokers. Since you are doing low volume it would probably cost you about $1 a trade. If you are looking for low min balance i would try scottrade.com . Interactive make you pay for each feature including quotes. Scottrade gives them away for free but it costs more to trade.
