Hi,
after 3 months using Barclays International trader, and realising that they are fleecing me after every trade, i am once again on the hunt for a good broker to trade US stocks.

The problem with BIT is that i didnt realise they charge 1% fee on a currency exchance from GBP to USD per trade. So Im already 2% down disregarding the fee's.

This is obviously overcome by having an account held in USD.... however I need first to know which broker is cheapest/best.

Any help would be much appreciated.

A few questions:

How much capital are you looking to trade with?
Do you require Portfolio Margin?
What is your average monthly volume?
Are you willing to open a customer account in the US in USD?
What other requirements do you have that need to be addressed?

You can respond directly in an email if you like.

Same question here. To add some details:

I am looking to just to get my feet wet, as you might say, say a $100-$500 account, which is quite feasible for forex, E-mini, I don't know what is the minimum feasible about for individual US stocks?

Not much turnaround, buy and hold. Thanks.

Interactive Brokers are generally considered the best discount brokerage for US stocks - check them out.
